The Golden Almond
Walk, harvest, smash our almonds, then prepare and enjoy traditional almond and garlic soup with home-made bread and local wine
Wander around the upper almond terraces and lower paths harvesting almonds (winter only). Gather in the workshop studio and you will be shown how to crack the almonds using a hand-made, electric powered, rustic crusher (the Blue Beast) or by cracking each nut by hand with a hammer – mind your fingers!
Nothing is wasted, so you will take the shells to be composted, the broken nuts to make milk and the whole nuts to make soup in the kitchen. Then enjoy a delicious bowl of ajo blanco, the white garlic and almond soup with locally baked bread, the fruits of your labours.
